Police to embed in fire stations to protect crews during Bonfire Night disorder
Scotland's biggest policing operation since President Trump's visit could deploy as many as 1,700 officers for fireworks-related disorder, football match and potential protests
Police officers will be embedded in fire stations and travel with fire crews across parts of Scotland on Bonfire Night in a new initiative aimed at protecting firefighters from attack, as part of Scotland's biggest operation since the visit of President Donald Trump last summer. As many as 1,700 officers could be deployed, with additional public order vehicles and drivers brought in from 18 English and Welsh forces under mutual aid arrangements.
