Hubble finds dwarf galaxies hold little of their oxygen
Study of 37 nearby dwarf galaxies finds supernova-driven winds apparently remove more oxygen than models predict
Astronomers using the Hubble Space Telescope have found that dwarf galaxies retain only a small fraction of the oxygen their stars produce, while galactic winds apparently remove oxygen from low-mass galaxies more effectively than current models predict, according to a study published Monday in The Astrophysical Journal.
