Nvidia weighs guaranteeing debt for Nscale's West Virginia data center
Chipmaker would guarantee debt financing for Nscale's planned campus, where Anthropic has signed a $44.6 billion contract
Nvidia is in talks to guarantee billions in debt financing for AI cloud provider Nscale's planned data center in West Virginia, according to reports from The Information and Bloomberg. The proposed arrangement would make Nvidia a cosigner on Nscale's debt, with the chipmaker stepping in if Nscale defaults on construction payments, as the AI industry works to keep its buildout plans afloat while investors grow jittery about the amounts involved. Anthropic has signed a $44.6 billion contract for the first building of the campus, which is expected to use Nvidia's next-generation Vera Rubin chips.
