The JBL Cove series includes three models — the compact Cove M1, Cove X1, and Cove P1 — available in black or white finishes. The entry-level Cove M1 is priced at $229.95 and features three 0.75-inch tweeters and a single 4-inch woofer, requiring a wired power connection. Pricing for the larger X1 and P1 models has not been disclosed.
The speakers go on sale September 13. JBL, best known for portable Bluetooth and party speakers, is expanding into the connected home audio space where Sonos has long been the dominant player and Bose recently refreshed its lineup with the Lifestyle Ultra.
By offering a range of sizes and the ability to form a multi-room system, JBL aims to appeal to consumers looking for flexible, whole-home sound without being locked into a single ecosystem. The Cove series can also be used as standalone speakers or in stereo pairs, giving buyers several configuration options.
