PLC Resources has deployed a suite of modern exploration techniques to uncover and rank gold targets at its Abbotts project, 35 kilometres north of Meekatharra in Western Australia's Murchison region. The program, carried out with remote-sensing specialist Geo Spectra, combined EnMAP hyperspectral imagery with existing high-resolution airborne magnetics and historical gold, copper and arsenic geochemistry. The integration revealed alteration patterns typical of orogenic gold deposits, concentrated where geological structures and historical anomalies converge. Executive director Simon Phillips said the study gave the company "a district-scale picture of the gold potential across our ground at Abbotts for the first time." Priority targets include Rochefort, Buttamiah, Vranizan North and Sprigg Bore. At Sprigg Bore, the spectral signatures align with historical rock-chip samples returning between 350 and 651 parts per billion gold. The company noted that the spectral features resemble the alteration style at New Murchison Gold's Crown Prince mine, five kilometres south of the project boundary. Crown Prince hosts a combined open-pit measured and indicated resource of 247,800 ounces at 3.1 grams per tonne and began production in September 2025, with ore processed at Westgold Resources' Bluebird plant. A recent eight-hole, 1896-metre reverse circulation drilling campaign at Rochefort has been completed, with assay results awaited in the coming weeks. PLC plans to verify the satellite targets later this quarter through geological mapping and rock-chip sampling. Aircore drilling programs have received regulatory approval, with drilling expected in the first quarter of 2027. Future work may include RC and diamond drilling. Beyond Abbotts, PLC holds an inferred resource of 13,000 ounces at its Yalgoo gold project, giving the company a second foothold in Western Australia's gold belts.

Analysis
Why This Matters
- The Murchison region is experiencing a revival in gold exploration, with modern techniques applied to an area that historically produced high-grade gold but remains underexplored. PLC's satellite-guided approach could reduce the cost and risk of finding new deposits.
- A successful discovery at Abbotts would add to Western Australia's gold production pipeline, with potential economic benefits for the region.
- The pending Rochefort assay results and the planned aircore drilling represent near-term catalysts that could advance or confirm the project's potential.
Background
The Murchison Goldfields have a long history of small-scale, high-grade mining from quartz reefs. The Abbotts Greenstone Belt produced around 41,000 ounces at an average grade of 31 grams per tonne from old workings, but much of the belt has not been subjected to modern exploration. PLC Resources is using hyperspectral imagery and geophysical data to identify hidden mineralisation. The Abbotts project covers 205 square kilometres and lies within the Abbotts Greenstone Belt, a geological setting known for orogenic gold.
What to Watch
- Assay results from Rochefort, expected in the coming weeks, will provide the first validation of the satellite targeting.
- Aircore drilling in the first quarter of 2027 could test the highest-priority targets.
- Activity at New Murchison Gold's Crown Prince mine and other nearby explorers may further confirm the prospectivity of the belt.
