At an event in New York City, Sonos unveiled two new audio products and a significant software overhaul, its largest single announcement since the troubled 2024 app relaunch. The new hardware includes the Sonos Beam Ultra soundbar and the Sonos Ace Ultra headphones, whose existence was earlier hinted at in an FCC filing from early August.
The software update, branded Sonos 27, is central to the company's strategy. It introduces AI integration and a new voice assistant built in-house for music and system control. The announcement comes as Sonos continues to recover from the fallout of its 2024 app redesign, which upset many customers and forced the company into damage control mode.
