Ukrainian drone strikes hit Russian finance ministry data center, tax databases reportedly compromised
Attack on facility in Gorodets, over 600 miles from front lines, part of escalating strikes on Russian digital infrastructure
Ukrainian drone strikes have damaged a Russian finance ministry data center in the suburb of Gorodets, roughly 230 miles east of Moscow and more than 600 miles from the front lines, according to a report by Data Center Dynamics (DCD). The facility is said to house state registries including the Federal Taxation Service's tax database, raising the possibility of disruptions to government information systems.
