Code review agents catch many bugs but still need humans
Yang et al. introduce CRBugBench, which tests whether review agents can identify bugs that humans later confirmed and fixed, rather than whether agents reproduce human review comments. The best evaluated configuration caught 71.9% of bugs in open-source pull requests within its top five comments, but performance declined for complex changes, non-local bugs and proprietary code.
